Do I really need medical training to work in classical homeopathy?
If you would like to practise classical homeopathy, training in conventional medicine is essential, although you can also complete this at the relevant schools during your training as a homeopath. Acquiring the basics of conventional medicine is necessary in order to obtain health insurance recognition, which usually requires 600 hours of conventional medical training (according to the guidelines of the Empirical Medical Register EMR). If you already have training or continuing education, further training in healthcare, for example as a nurse CHE, occupational therapist BSc, druggist CHE or in a similar field, you already meet these requirements. Please ask the schools about the professions for which additional training in conventional medicine is not required.
