Brauche ich für das Studium an einer FH in Pflege spezielle Vorkenntnisse?
Do I need any special prior knowledge to study nursing at a UAS?
Yes, you must have previous knowledge in the nursing field in order to be able to start studying at a University of Applied Sciences in nursing. This means that you must either have a Specialized Baccalaureate or Federal Vocational Baccalaureate in Health, have already completed training at a College of Higher Education to become a qualified nursing specialist CHE or have a higher education qualification in nursing (PsyKP, IKP, DN II, KWS or AKP). If you do not meet any of these requirements, you can acquire the necessary knowledge in a structured practical year, which lasts 12 months and can be carried out in hospitals, homes, clinics or another equivalent institution in the healthcare sector. Such a practical year is suitable for high school graduates, graduates from a non-healthcare field and people with a Federal VET Diploma with Federal Vocational Baccalaureate. You can request further information on the academic and practical requirements for studying at a University of Applied Sciences in Nursing directly via the contact form of the individual Universities. Simply click on "Nursing Bachelor (UAS)" and then on "Receive free documents on Nursing Bachelor (UAS) immediately by email". This is of course also possible for all other courses and degree programs.
