If you are an adult and want to catch up on your apprenticeship qualification or, as it is called today, go through the qualification procedure, you have several options for doing so. With catch-up training or the validation procedure, this can be achieved quickly and easily with sufficient professional experience of at least five years. In the case of catch-up training, you acquire the required knowledge independently or in special courses and take part in the regular final apprenticeship examination, which also covers general knowledge. During the validation process, you will be credited with existing qualifications so that you only have to attend supplementary courses in the areas in which you have deficits, possibly including general education classes.
