Studying architecture: Does an MAS degree entitle me to study for a doctorate?
An MAS, a Master of Advanced Studies, is a continuing education course at a university with at least 60 ECTS credits, which is aimed at professionally experienced university graduates who wish to deepen their specialist knowledge with this type of architecture degree. This type of architecture degree in the form of an MAS is a further specialization course that should not be confused with an initial degree such as a Bachelor's degree and the Master's degree (MA, MSc) that builds on it. For this reason, a Master of Advanced Studies in Architecture does not entitle you to study for a doctorate.
