Anyone wishing to train as a marketing specialist must have at least two years of professional experience in the fields of marketing communication, advertising, sales, direct marketing, public relations or marketing in order to start this marketing training course. In addition, proof of one of the following qualifications must be provided. In addition to people with a Federal VET Diploma, a commercial school diploma, a diploma from a secondary school, a diploma from a specialized secondary school or a high school diploma, people with an Federal Certificate of Vocational Education and Training or at least two years of training can also be admitted to the examination, provided they can prove that they have at least three years of professional experience in marketing. Since the 2019 examination year, the Markom certificate examination is no longer a prerequisite for admission to the Federal Professional Examination for Marketing Specialists.
