Using herbal medicine as a phytotherapist

Are you fascinated by nature and its secret powers? Do you love natural and alternative medicine and would you like to learn more about plants, herbs, leaves, barks and seeds with healing properties? Do you believe that herbal medicine - also known as phytopharmacognosy - is an important complement to conventional medicine? Are you looking for a new challenge and would you like to take a course in phytotherapy?

Then you are sure to find a suitable educational opportunity on the education portal Ausbildung-Weiterbildung.ch. Numerous schools in the field of alternative medicine offer shorter or longer courses in herbal medicine. The courses are often equally suitable for laypeople and people with medical training. Training as a phytotherapist is particularly interesting for people who already have an independent practice (in the fields of massage, alternative medicine, kinesiology, homeopathy, etc.) and would like to expand their practice accordingly. This enables them to address a broader clientele and apply their acquired knowledge responsibly when treating clients.

During further training to become a phytotherapist, participants learn how to prepare medicines from various parts of plants and find out all about their use for a wide range of complaints, illnesses and injuries. The content of the courses is often based on traditional knowledge from different cultures and includes traditional phytotherapy from European countries, rational phytotherapy, Sino-Japanese phytotherapy, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and Ayurveda.

Personen ohne Erfahrung im Gesundheitswesen und der Medizin müssen mit einer umfangreichen Ausbildung in der Phytotherapie rechnen, um medizinisches Grundwissen sowie Wissen rund um die Heilkräuter zu erlangen und die Anwendung dieses Wissens in der praktischen Umsetzung zu üben. Daher sollten Sie mit bis zu zwei Jahren berufsbegleitender Ausbildung zur Phytotherapeutin rechnen, bei manchen Schulen auch mit einer längeren Ausbildungszeit, je nach Modulwahl.

Eine Weiterbildung in der Phytotherapie, die sich an erfahrene Ärzte und Ärztinnen wendet, die sich einem neuen Fachbereich als Ergänzung zuwenden möchten, ist komplett anders aufgebaut, als eine Ausbildung für Personen, die bisher keinerlei oder kaum Erfahrung im Gesundheitswesen, der Medizin oder der Alternativmedizin vorweisen können. Daher variieren auch die Inhalte der einzelnen Bildungsangebote zur Phytotherapeutin / zum Phytotherapeuten immens. Als Beispiel hier die Inhalte einer Ausbildung für Einsteiger ohne Vorkenntnisse: Herz- und Kreislauferkrankungen, Atemwegserkrankungen; Galle und Leber; Blase und Nieren; Nervensystem; Haut; Magen-Darm; Schilddrüse; Hormonelle Störungen; Teekunde; Hexenkräuter; Wickel, Kompressen und Umschläge; Immunsystem; Phytotherapie in der Pädiatrie; Krebsbehandlung; Gewürzpflanzen; innere Kräfte organisieren und aktivieren, Praxistage und Exkursionen. Für detaillierte Informationen zu Inhalten und Aufbau der Weiterbildung wenden Sie sich bitte direkt an die einzelnen Phytotherapieschulen.

Die Phytotherapie wird je nach Schule mit unterschiedlichen Ausrichtungen angeboten, etwa als östliche Pflanzenheilkunde (TCM), Ayurvedische Heilpflanzenkunde oder auch westliche Phytotherapie. Erkundigen Sie sich daher bitte unbedingt vor der Anmeldung über den Schwerpunkt der Ausbildung zur Phytotherapeutin.

Die Ausbildungen zur Phytotherapeutin resp. zum Phytotherapeuten sind nur bedingt für Branchenneulinge geeignet. Einige Schulen setzten eine medizinische Grundbildung voraus, etwa als Arzt / Ärztin oder Apotheker / Apothekerin. Andere Schulen nehmen für Ihre Kurse in der Phytotherapie auch Personen ohne jegliche Kenntnisse der Heilpflanzenkunde an. Wenden Sie sich daher bitte direkt an die jeweiligen Bildungsinstitute.
