My name is Jennifer Schweizer. I have been working in the beauty industry for almost 20 years. I have also been teaching in this field for 14 years. By founding the Online School of Beauty, I have now fulfilled my dream of having my own beauty school for nail design.
At the Online School of Beauty, we start with manicure training - a classic that is very close to my heart. After that, you can also train in newer areas such as anatomy, nail design, gel polish for gel nails and other new trends. This allows us to offer an all-round carefree training package.
If you want to complete a nail design course, you should enjoy people and want to learn new things. You should also have an interest in beauty and current trends. In principle, anyone who wants to can complete the course. No specific prerequisites or previous qualifications are required. Anyone who is interested is welcome.
The career prospects for a nail designer are very different. I sometimes have students who have already printed their business cards for their own nail design studio when they start their nail design training. During their training, they then realize that this is not as easy as they had imagined. However, I also often have participants who simply start with manicures and embark on the adventure without having a clear goal in mind. There are always graduates who decide to become self-employed and even give up their old job completely. The range here is very broad.
The nail design training and the pace of learning the modules can be set by each participant. Everyone can also decide for themselves how much time they want to invest. Our recommendation is to allow a maximum of six months from booking to completion. This means that a module lasts a maximum of two months.
At the Online School of Beauty, we really focus on expertise. It's about imparting knowledge in nail design and not about selling products. We impart pure knowledge as practically as possible. We draw on 20 years of experience. Topics such as time management, careful product selection and self-organization are also covered. However, the focus is on imparting competent specialist knowledge in the field of nail design.
After registering at the Online School of Beauty, participants receive instructions on how to proceed. There are instructions on how to complete the course. First, a booklet, shopping list and small training programs are downloaded. You are guided through the nail design course so that you have all the documents, videos and materials at your disposal. First you read the documents and are introduced to the videos. Then you watch the nail design videos. Everyone can complete this at their own pace, or work through it several times.
The Online School of Beauty can always be contacted by email. Homework can also be submitted there. This also allows us to keep track of the students' progress. Contact by telephone or video is also possible. Homework is discussed and the students are accompanied during the nail design lessons.
I often hear from my students that they first watched YouTube videos on nail design. During the online course, however, they notice a striking difference between the YouTube tutorials and the teaching videos from the Online School of Beauty. I now smile about this because I hear it so often. The difference is simple: the online nail design training imparts knowledge with videos from the everyday life of a nail designer. We take student feedback very seriously and are constantly developing our videos in contact with the students. This is why the videos are very practical and convey knowledge in a human way. The videos combine the specialist knowledge of several people and are constantly adapted to the latest findings. We are always happy to receive criticism.
Of course, I also offer nail design training on site. I always hold preliminary talks with our students. Some of them then decide to attend a personal course on site. For me, the two forms of instruction are not mutually exclusive. I also have people who want personal support for very specific issues after graduation. You can also book professional days with me, sometimes including a studio session, to receive very specific further training and work together on your own weaknesses or insecurities. We are also happy to support our nail design course participants afterwards.
There are always nails that have not been embellished as desired. These are also people with training and not just after watching YouTube tutorials. That does happen. We are constantly working to reduce this. Nail design is a learning process - just like any other craft.
