Wage increase after completion of the "Communications Specialist (BP)" course

What salary can I expect after completing this training?

In individual cases, salary development depends on various criteria, such as the industry, region, size of the company, previous education, professional experience and age. Another decisive factor is whether the qualification leads to a new, suitable position - in the previous company or another company.

With "Salarium", the federal government's salary calculator, you can calculate your personal salary opportunities. We have calculated a possible case to illustrate this. It is intended as an example and corresponds to a statistical average.

Calculation of the possible salary increase with the acquisition of the federal certificate as a communications specialist

Sandra, 22 years old, completed an apprenticeship as a businesswoman with a federal certificate of proficiency (EFZ) and worked for three years in a small full-service advertising agency in Chur, where she earned around CHF 3,600 a month.

When one of her colleagues, a communications specialist, resigned and his position could not be filled seamlessly, she took on some of his tasks. She had direct customer contact, prepared the advertising budget for an online campaign, coordinated appointments, etc. Sandra really enjoyed these tasks and made her want to take on more responsibility in communications in the future. Her employer was also very satisfied with her work and offered to support her further training as a communications specialist (BP).

Soon afterwards, Sandra enrolled on a preparatory course for the professional exam to become a communications specialist. Just over a year later, she took the professional exam and passed with flying colors. Since then, she has been working in the same advertising agency in a new role and is responsible for managing various projects. She is in close contact with clients, her colleagues from the graphics and new media department and external copywriters, printers, etc. Her salary has risen by more than 30% to around CHF 4,750 thanks to her further training as a communications specialist with a federal certificate.
