What is kinesiology? What does a kinesiologist do?

Kinesiology is a body-oriented therapy method that combines various concepts for health promotion, learning support, process support and stress management. The best known is the kinesiology muscle test, which can be used to detect and treat energetic blockages and the resulting illnesses via the muscles. "Touch for Health" is the application of kinesiology as a health-promoting measure. Brain Gym" is an application that helps children and adults with concentration and learning disorders.

Kinesiologists support people of all ages with psychosomatic disorders, complaints and illnesses, after accidents and medical interventions and in coping with general burdens such as stress, anxiety, allergies, etc. Kinesiologists work not only on autonomic body reactions and self-regulation, but also on self-perception, mindset and emotional reactions. They not only work on autonomic body reactions and self-regulation, but also on self-perception, mindset and emotional reactions.

They promote the body's powers of self-regulation so that their clients can regain more physical and mental strength, stability and flexibility.

Treatment procedure

In the preliminary consultation, the kinesiologist clarifies the client's specific concerns and defines the issues to be addressed together with them.

The kinesiologist then uses the muscle test to test each issue individually. In this way, she checks whether an issue represents a blockage for the body and how strong it is. The central concept of kinesiology comes into play here, namely that the unconscious reaction of the muscles to a therapeutic provocation is used to find out how well the nervous system can deal with the corresponding challenge.

The kinesiologist has various techniques at her disposal to "correct" the body's reaction, e.g. by activating certain points on the body, targeted movement and energy exercises or with the help of mental work. This allows blockages to be released, for example, which enables the body and mind to react in new ways.

With a further, final muscle test, kinesiologists not only check the effect of their "correction", but also anchor it in the body. To further stabilize the correction, they can also give their clients exercises to do at home.
