The "SME Management Specialist" qualification has existed under this name since 2013. It replaced earlier qualifications in this area and has since become well established under the combined sponsorship of various professional and industry associations (e.g. Schweiz. Gewerbeverband sgv, Verband schweizer Elektroinstallationsfirmen VSEI, AM Suisse = formerly Schweiz. Metal Union SMU).
Graduates of the "SME Specialist" course have very good career prospects, as the Swiss economy is largely made up of SMEs. These extend across all sectors, are partly owner-managed and partly branches or departments of larger companies.
