Electrical installation and safety expert (HFP): Managers and professionals for electrical installations and safety

With the higher specialist examination for electrical installation and safety experts (formerly electrical installer), successful graduates can run their own company or work in a managerial role in the electrical industry. They are responsible for tasks in areas such as installation, safety, planning, project management, marketing and personnel management. They also take on management functions in an electrical installation company, electrical safety company, electrical inspection company, planning office or in industry. Prerequisites for this further training are a professional examination as an electrical project manager and at least one year of professional experience or a specialist certificate as an electrical project manager.

In the further training course to become an electrical installation and safety expert (HFPEL), participants are prepared to take on the technical and business management responsibilities of a company in the electrical industry. They will then be able to plan, calculate and organize electrical installation projects. They take care of the execution from installation to final inspection and are the first point of contact for clients, architectural firms and building owners.

Anyone wishing to be admitted to an electrical installation expert and safety expert course and then to the federal examination must meet the following requirements when taking the examination:

  • Professional examination as an electrical project manager for installation and safety with a federal certificate or equivalent qualification
  • or federal certificate as an electrical project manager (according to the regulations of 25.6.2003)
  • and at least one year of practical experience in a relevant industry after the professional examination
  • and have the required module qualifications or certificates of equivalence and have submitted their diploma thesis
