Agility is a buzzword in business today and an important part of business in a constantly changing market, because if you want to survive in business, you have to be agile. An agile business also requires agile HR, where consistency, flexibility and a focus on the customer are paramount. If personnel - human capital - is seen as an important component for the success of a company, then an agile dynamic must also take place here.

Constant adaptability is therefore also required in the area of human resources. The flexibility, willingness to change and personal responsibility of staff should be an important part of this. Issues and problems in personnel management should always be viewed holistically and form part of organizational development and cultural design. And this is only possible in a corporate mentality that is dynamic and agile and therefore also capable of transforming people, departments, working groups, teams and processes. The ultimate focus is on promoting further development, personal responsibility and creativity.

The following four areas are essential for agile HR:

  • Focus on the customer:
    Human Resources does not exist for Human Resources, but for the business that wants to offer a product or service to its clients. The focus in HR should therefore not primarily be on the personnel area, but much more on the problem of the business.
  • Flexibility:
    Fast and adaptable workflows and processes to individual circumstances should always be possible.
  • Consulting:
    The role of HR is primarily in the area of advising and supporting individual employees. Whether recruiting or personnel development, training or other processes - teams and individual employees should take on more responsibility, have a say, participate in decision-making and only be carried out under the supervision of HR (help for self-help).
  • Interation:
    A product or process is not planned from A to Z, but is constantly adapted to the current circumstances. This requires a strong feedback culture and ongoing communication.
