It's simple: you're older now and you know what it's all about: the question of how you want to live in the future.
Year 10 is different from the previous school years. You go here voluntarily. You go because you know that you will get a second chance to get an apprenticeship or to enter a secondary school. You also receive individual support in the 10th school year and can catch up where you missed out before.
You have to cope with a lot during your compulsory schooling: You grow up physically and become more independent. You have to take on more and more responsibility, you want to be treated differently by your parents, find your place among your peers, and so on. None of this is easy, and for some people, school comes up short as a result.
But in year 10, you are a year older and more mature. You've gone through a lot of development and now that some of your colleagues are in apprenticeships and already earning their own money, you've certainly realized how important your next steps are for your life.
Have the confidence to take responsibility for your life now. It's a "crass" step, but a very liberating one.
