The IT apprenticeship is also available as a full-time school-based course. Or as a second course for adults. The professional practice is then deepened in an internship in an IT company. The IT apprenticeship takes place in modules according to the guidelines of ICT Vocational Training Switzerland and the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI).

Which IT apprenticeship is right for you depends on which school-leaving qualification you have. After completing compulsory schooling, you can do an apprenticeship as a computer scientist with a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training. If you have a Baccalaureate, you may also be eligible to study at university. If you already have an apprenticeship qualification with a Federal Vocational Baccalaureate, a degree course at a university of applied sciences may be a good choice for you, provided you have obtained this in a profession related to IT or have gained at least one year of relevant professional experience with another qualification at upper-secondary level. Another option for people with a Federal VET Diploma is a shortened two-year computer science apprenticeship, which you can find here under the heading of computer scientist career changer (2 years). A postgraduate studies CHE course may also be suitable for you with a higher degree, but this needs to be clarified in detail.
