The duration of each continuing education, further training program varies greatly depending on the education provider and the degree you are aiming for. For courses such as a Bachelor's degree (e.g. Literary Writing Bachelor, Cultural Studies Bachelor) or a Master's degree (e.g. Contemporary Arts Practice Master), the duration is clearly regulated and can only be extended or shortened with the consent of the Universities. This is three years for a Bachelor's degree and two years for a Master's degree.

However, the situation is different for further education courses for other types of qualifications, such as certificate courses offered by schools or adult education centers. There you will find one or two-day lectures as well as seminars lasting several weeks, up to two-year courses in literary history.
