What final competencies do participants in the CAS Diaconal Development (UAS) have?
After completing the diaconia continuing education, graduates are able to recognize the social issues of the community and respond to community developments, know the needs in their community and align their diaconal mission accordingly. They are also familiar with community-oriented planning and implementation of diaconal work and know how to activate, involve and empower members of the congregation. After continuing education, further training, deacons know how to successfully manage crisis situations and reduce or even avoid escalation and can carry out media work to attract more attention to their diaconal mission.
