Woher weiss ich, welcher Sprachkurs für mich geeignet ist?
How do I know which language course is right for me?
Every language course, regardless of the language, is designed for a very specific target group that must meet certain language requirements in order to participate in continuing education, further training in languages. The simple reason for this is that the group should be as homogeneous as possible in order to increase the learning effect and achieve rapid linguistic success. The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages was developed to facilitate this categorization of language learners, which divides foreign language skills into six levels. These are A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2. Each language course usually has a note about one of these levels in its description, so that it is clear at first glance which course might be suitable for you. For example, if you would like to learn English, Italian or French and do not yet have any language skills, a language course at level A1 is suitable for you, whereas if you already have some basic knowledge, an A2 course could be ideal for you. Some language schools also offer intermediate courses which subdivide the individual levels once again, such as A1 1/3. Only when you have completed all the courses at this level will you have the necessary knowledge to attend a more advanced language course at level A2. The designation of the levels therefore means that you will only have reached this level once you have completed a continuing education, further training course and that your language skills are not already at this level at the start of the course. As not everyone interested in learning a language knows right away what level they are at, most language schools offer placement tests that you can take either on site or online - free of charge and without obligation - to help you find the right language course for you.
