How much will I earn during my apprenticeship as a childcare specialist?
The actual salary during an apprenticeship as a childcare specialist (FaBe) usually varies depending on the institution and canton of employment and is not subject to any minimum wage regulation. In 2016, the Swiss umbrella organization for the social world of work, Savoir Social, recommended a gross monthly wage of CHF 750 for apprentices in their first year, CHF 950 in their second year and CHF 1,270 in their third year. For adults completing a shortened apprenticeship, a monthly gross salary of CHF 3,681 is recommended. A 13th month's salary and other allowances may be added.
