Wie kann ich meinen KV Abschluss nachholen?
How can I catch up on my KV qualification?
As an adult, you can complete your commercial apprenticeship qualification in four possible ways. Firstly, you can do a conventional apprenticeship, which is a regular basic training course lasting two to four years, as is the case with any other apprenticeship. You can also catch up on your CT qualification by completing a shortened apprenticeship, for which you also need an apprenticeship contract. In one to two years of full-time training, you can be admitted to the qualification procedure (formerly the LAP final apprenticeship examination), but you must find an apprenticeship where this shortened procedure is possible. Another option for obtaining the Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training in Business Administration or the Federal VET Certificate is so-called catch-up training, the apprenticeship qualification for adults with commercial experience. This training is carried out on a part-time basis and prepares you for the final apprenticeship examination. You decide for yourself how much you want to learn and which skills you need to develop in order to pass. The schools will be happy to help you with your planning. As a last resort, if you want to catch up on the KV qualification, you can use the validation procedure, in which you have to prove your skills on the basis of a dossier and can acquire missing qualifications through special courses at vocational schools. If you can prove that you have all the necessary qualifications, you will receive the Federal VET Diploma without having to take the final apprenticeship examination.
