How is the Federal Professional Examination for PR specialists structured?

The Federal Professional Examination (FPE) for prospective public relations specialists with a Federal Diploma of Higher Education consists of six parts and lasts 12 hours and 15 minutes. The oral parts of the examination are "Conceptual aspects of PR", "Media landscape" and "PR principles and ethics", each lasting 25 minutes. The written parts of the examination are "Production of PR media and PR measures", "Media relations" and "Writing and editing", which take three or four hours respectively. To pass the FPE, the overall grade must be at least 4.0 and none of the examination parts must be below 3.0. In addition, the "Writing and editing" and the steep "Production of PR media and PR measures" parts of the exam may not be completed with a grade lower than 4.0.
