How is the Master's in Social Work UAS structured?
The Master's degree program in UAS Social Work has a modular structure and consists of a foundation course, a specialization course and a final course. The basic studies include methodological and theoretical foundations in five compulsory modules, which must be attended by all students. Following this basic study program, students can choose one of four specializations, one of which is offered by each of the Universities of Applied Sciences in Bern, Lucerne, St. Gallen and Zurich. There is a choice of: Social Change and the Organization of Social Work; Social Work in the Context of Social Policy and Social Economics; Professional and Methodological Development; Social Problems and Lifestyle: Theories - Analyses - Interventions. In addition, there are various optional modules amounting to 18 ECTS, which include an international study trip, themed weeks, research modules and in-depth modules, as well as an application-oriented compulsory module. At the end of your studies, you will write your Master's thesis and attend corresponding courses.
