How is the degree course in Technical Communication structured?
The Bachelor's degree program in Technical Communication consists of a foundation course, which is identical for all students of Applied Languages, regardless of their specialization (Multilingual Communication, Multimodal Communication, Technical Communication), as well as a specialization-specific advanced course including an internship and an optional stay abroad. In the foundation course, you will acquire knowledge in the fields of marketing, technology, law and IT, as well as skills in linguistics, translation, regional studies, research, text production and communication. In the main course, you will focus on your specialization and take modules in communication science, technical text linguistics, comprehensibility, visualization, knowledge and information management, language skills, translation, terminology and business administration. In addition, there are courses on technical documentation, localization, legal and normative aspects, project management in technical documentation, digital text processing / DTP, CML, single-source publishing, editorial systems, electronic documentation, technical journalism and public relations, as well as individually selected elective modules such as usability testing, terminology management, social media communication and others. Comprehensive modules on technology and a workshop internship are also part of the course.
