How do I decide on the right profession?
It is not easy for everyone to decide on a career that they would like to learn after leaving school. If a secondary school is not an option, it is particularly important that you start to gather sufficient information and think about the various career prospects open to you at an early stage. Don't rush into choosing the first apprenticeship that comes to mind, such as retail sales assistant or restaurant assistant. Although these are certainly interesting professions, they are by no means the only ones. Make your choice carefully and experience the profession in practice. In addition to the taster apprenticeships that you do during school anyway, it is also advisable to spend a few days or weeks during the vacations getting a taste of a wide variety of industries and companies. In this way, you will quickly recognize where your strengths lie, which working methods do not suit you at all and which activities you simply do not enjoy. Always be honest with yourself. Just because you have imagined becoming a veterinary practice assistant for years, it may turn out that this idea simply does not match your needs and abilities. Don't force anything, after all, it's about the job you will be doing every day for the next few years and don't focus solely on the salary when making your choice. This will not get you out of bed in the morning, but only a job that you enjoy and that you are good at for precisely this reason.
