Werden in einem Chinesisch-Sprachkurs auch die chinesischen Schriftzeichen vermittelt?

Are Chinese characters also taught in a Chinese language course?

Mandarin is not quite as easy to learn as Italian or Spanish, for example. This is not least due to the fact that both European languages use the Latin alphabet and have very similar, albeit not identical, grammar and sentence structure. Mandarin is different. The characters cannot even be understood by laypeople at second glance and only become clear after years of studying them. For this reason, most language courses place less emphasis on learning the script at the beginning than on pronunciation and communication so as not to overwhelm the students.

A phonetic script is often used as the basis for learning Chinese. This phonetic transcription is also known as pinyin and is expanded to include the actual script during the course of language training. If you only want to learn the basic terms and systems in order to gain an initial insight into Mandarin, you will probably not be concerned with the characters.
