During a language study trip, you usually have the choice between different types of courses, mostly standard courses, intensive courses and combination courses consisting of group lessons and individual lessons. Individual lessons are also usually offered, as are preparatory courses for language diploma examinations and special courses (business courses, 50+, language and culture combination, dance, surfing, golf, etc.). For those who want to learn a lot in as short a time as possible, intensive courses are usually recommended. These offer the advantage that you have a high learning workload of around 30 lessons per week and still have enough time to get to know the country and its people. The weekends are free of lessons for all courses, so you can use them for organized leisure activities and excursions. If you don't want to learn quite as much, we recommend combination courses, which combine conventional group language courses with individual tuition and are therefore just as effective as intensive courses with fewer lessons (often 25 lessons). However, combination courses are usually a little more expensive, as a private teacher cannot divide their hourly rate equally between several participants.
