What skills does an Arabic course for beginners teach me?
An Arabic course at level A1, i.e. for beginners, will give you the language skills you need to understand and use simple sentences and familiar expressions. No linguistic finesse is expected, but you can be sure that you will be understood in basic terms and will be able to find your way around. You can ask about people and give information, always assuming that the person you are speaking to is prepared to speak slowly and help you. In an Arabic course for beginners, you will learn the Arabic language, known as standard Arabic, as well as the basics of the Arabic script. You will then be able to read and understand short and simple texts and write them yourself.
