What skills does the CAS in Transplant Nursing (UAS) teach?
After successfully completing continuing education, further training in transplant nursing, transplant nurses have extensive knowledge to professionally care for patients on an outpatient or inpatient basis. They can understand the surgical procedure, derive treatments from it and understand the relationships between organ failure from a physiological, anatomical and pathological perspective. They have the skills to explain and assess treatment before and after organ donation or transplantation and to individually assess the need for care. They are responsible for evidence-based planning, implementation and evaluation of translational care, as well as for providing information and support to potential donors, their relatives and those affected.
