What does continuing education, further training as a financial manager teach me?
The training to become a certified financial manager imparts skills and knowledge about the world of finance.
The learning content is determined independently by the schools, so there may be differences (e.g. different focuses).
In principle, a financial management course covers the following topics:
- Fundamentals of financial management (e.g. tasks and objectives, role of a financial manager in a company, difference between finance and accounting)

- Financial planning and budgeting (including budget preparation and control, liquidity planning and safeguarding)
- Financing and investment (e.g. different types of financing (equity, debt, internal financing), investment calculation)
- Corporate management and performance
- Risk management (including identification and assessment of financial risks, compliance)
- Taxes and law in the financial context (e.g. knowledge of company, contract and tax law)
- Communication (e.g. with banks, investors or management, preparing reports, preparing and giving presentations)
- Digitization and tools
