What training does someone who wants to work in career counseling need?
A postgraduate degree is required in order to work in public vocational and career counseling. This means that a tertiary degree or a university degree as well as MAS continuing education, further training to become a certified career counselor must be completed at a university. Other qualifications are often also possible for employment in the private sector, for example as an internal career advisor at larger companies in the outplacement or human resources sector or as a career coach.
