What training and continuing education, further training can I complete at a janitor school?
You can usually attend several different training and further education courses at a caretaking school. On the one hand, there is the basic training to become a specialist in operational maintenance with a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET Diploma).
Building on this, the Federal Professional Examination (FPE) for janitors with a Federal Diploma of Higher Education (AFPE) for janitors with a Federal Diploma is offered.
In addition, it is often possible to attend shorter seminars on specific topics, such as fire protection, plant protection, disinfection of bathing water in communal pools, mold and pests, school furniture, flower arranging, ergonomics, lawn care and much more. Universities of Applied Sciences also offer CAS, DAS and MAS postgraduate courses in facility management and related fields.
