What distinguishes standard courses from intensive courses?
Most English schools offer their students the opportunity to choose between intensive courses and standard courses. These courses differ mainly in terms of duration and the number of hours or lessons per week. If you have a lot of time available, are highly motivated and want to learn English quickly, intensive English courses can be the ideal choice for you. Depending on the school and the course offered, you will attend a language course at your language school 3 to 5 times a week for several hours (also possible as an online course). These courses take place over a shorter period of time than conventional standard courses, which usually take place once a week for around two hours. If you want or need to learn English quickly and intensively, you should give preference to intensive courses at English schools or opt for a different model, such as private lessons / one-to-one tuition, combined intensive and conversation courses or a language stay.
