What do I learn in a Dutch language course for beginners?
A beginners' course at level A1 provides participants with the Dutch language skills they need to communicate in a simple way. This includes both written and oral communication. Course participants learn to understand and use simple sentences, to introduce themselves (Hello, my name is ... ) and to introduce others (This is my husband ... ).
You will also be able to talk about your job and leisure activities, ask for directions and understand the answers as long as the other person speaks slowly and clearly. After a Dutch course, ordering in a restaurant will no longer cause you any major problems, nor will ordering the bill, reserving a room or making a complaint if something is wrong. You will learn everyday Dutch, which will help you to make yourself understood when traveling or with friends.
