Difference between ICDL and ECDL?

The ICDL (International Certificate of Digital Literacy) is the international successor to the former ECDL (European Computer Driving License). In terms of content and examination structure, the ICDL corresponds to the ECDL - only the name has been standardized internationally. Many employers and educational institutions now recognize the ICDL instead of the ECDL.
