An air traffic management (ATM) specialist works in the ACC, the Area Control Centers in Geneva or Zurich. There, air traffic control specialists work in the flow management position (FMP), where the traffic density and flow are analyzed, the traffic volume is monitored and optimized and the flight data is coordinated with Eurocontrol's central traffic flow control unit. Air traffic control specialists are also employed in Dynamic Airspace Management (DAM), where information on paragliders, parachutists and military activities is integrated into the relevant systems for display on the air traffic controller's radar screens, and in Flight Data Operator (FDO), where flight plans transmitted by Eurocontrol are processed, integrated, checked and forwarded to neighboring control centers abroad.
