Was genau ist das Vorbereitungsjahr Kinderbetreuung?

What exactly is the preparatory year for childcare?

The BVJ childcare vocational preparation year is an offer for school leavers who would like to work in the care of small children, school children or supplementary family care in the future and want to gain initial experience in this field. It is suitable for young people who are not sure whether an apprenticeship in this field is really suitable for them or who have not found an apprenticeship after a long search. The BVJ includes practical training in a day care center four days a week as well as attending school one day a week. In addition, there is usually a three-day introductory event. During this preparatory year, learners are familiarized with the various aspects of childcare, improving their chances on the apprenticeship market and receiving expert support in preparing applications. The curriculum includes general education, health education, home economics and day-to-day childcare.
