Are dental assistants and dental secretaries the same profession?
Training to become a dental assistant is a basic training course, i.e. an apprenticeship, which will earn you a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET Diploma) upon completion. A dental secretary, on the other hand, is a continuing education, further training that requires an apprenticeship in dentistry, for example as a dental assistant ZMA / SSO or dental assistant Federal VET Diploma.
