Do I have to attend school during my training as an office assistant?
Attendance at a vocational college is compulsory as part of the basic training to become an office assistant. Learners have the option of attending school two days a week in the first half of their training and one day a week for the rest of the training period, or they can opt for the variant where they attend school from Monday to Friday in the first year of training and learn the theoretical basics and complete a paid internship in the second year of training, attending classes only half a day a week. This second option is offered by NSH Handelsschule Basel, among others.
