As a Master of Advanced Studies, the MAS Construction Management requires a university degree in architecture or a related profession, as well as at least two years of professional experience in the construction industry. Prospective students with a master craftsman's certificate or an Advanced Federal Diploma of Higher Education (Achtung: Engl.) as a construction manager or building construction technician and at least five years of professional experience in the construction industry may be accepted "sur dossier" after comprehensive clarification by the school.
If you do not have a university degree or a diploma from a College of Higher Education (AFPE), you can advance your career prospects by taking the Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) to become a construction manager with a federal diploma. The following is required when registering for the examination:
- Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET Diploma) as a draughtsperson specializing in architecture or civil engineering or an equivalent qualification and at least 4 years of professional experience as a site manager
- or Federal VET Diploma or an equivalent qualification and at least 5 years of professional experience as a site manager
- or completion of a Federal Professional Examination (FPE), Advanced Professional Examination (AFPE) or College of Higher Education (CHE), Bachelor's degree from a College of Applied Sciences or University or equivalent qualification and at least 5 years of professional experience as a site manager
