Thai bears no resemblance to our Latin alphabet, which makes it difficult for beginners to learn the language. For this reason, an introductory course at a language school focuses primarily on oral communication in order to make initial learning successes visible and ensure basic understanding. However, Thai characters are not neglected as a rule, but their basic principles are learned and applied. After a beginner's course at level A1, you will therefore be able to read and write these characters, even if you cannot always understand their meaning, as you usually lack the vocabulary to do so.
