The individual courses and training programs on offer have very different orientations and focuses, so you cannot expect to learn how to apply catwalk make-up in every make-up course.
In a basic or beginner's course, you will usually first be taught the basic techniques of make-up, with priming and brightening, shape and color theory, application of blush, camouflage and beauty make-up. You will also often be shown make-up techniques for women who wear glasses or older women. Bridal make-up is also usually taught in basic courses. Make-up for fashion shows, photo shoots or galas is not usually taught in basic courses, as this requires sound basic knowledge and experience. If you would like to continue your education in this direction without already having professional experience as a beautician/make-up artist/visagist, a make-up course that trains you as a professional make-up artist, for example, is suitable for you.
