A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science can be obtained in various degree programs, such as the Environmental Engineering program at the ZHAW. There, students choose a specialization as a major for the third semester. This can be one of the following: Urban Ecosystems, Nature Management, Renewable Energies and Eco-Technologies, Organic Agriculture and Horticulture, Environmental Systems and Sustainable Development. Minors can also be taken as an additional qualification, for example: Field Diagnostics and Analytics, Education and Consulting, Species Knowledge, Life Cycle Assessment and Label Management, International Profile. The Environmental Engineering degree program at the FHNW focuses on environmental biotechnology, environmental engineering, sustainability and sustainable resource management, cleaner production and clean technologies, environment and health as well as safety and risk management. In the ZHAW's Energy and Environmental Engineering degree program, students can focus on Thermal Renewable Energies, Electrical Renewable Energies or Environment and Sustainability. At the FHNW on Energy Systems, Energy in Buildings or Environment and Management.
