Kann man während seines Aufenthalts in Australien nur bei Gastfamilien wohnen?
Can I only live with host families during my stay in Australia?
Most language schools offer their students the opportunity to choose between different types of accommodation, usually between host families and student residences. Some schools and language travel providers also give you the opportunity to choose between different options within the individual types of accommodation for your language study trip in Australia. For example, you can choose a host family where you are the only language student and are fully integrated into the family, can take part in every meal and are accepted as a member of the family. Alternatively, you can choose to share your host family with another language student of a different nationality. The option of self-catering within the host family is also possible. In this case, you will only be provided with the rooms and you take care of your own food, laundry and the like. The difference to a student residence is therefore not very big, except that you have a family connection if necessary. In student residences, you can opt for a single room, but also for a double room; shared rooms are rather rare. This option is best suited to independent self-caterers who do not want a family connection and appreciate their freedom. Other options include hostels, backpackers and other accommodation, which you should always enquire about with the relevant language school provider if you are interested.
