Can I start training as a public relations specialist without professional experience in public relations?
Two to three years of professional experience are required for a federally recognized continuing education, such as the Federal Professional Examination (FPE) for PR specialists with a federal certificate, depending on previous education. This does not necessarily have to have been gained in PR or public relations, but can also have been acquired in related areas such as marketing, journalism, direct marketing, marketing communication or sales.
