Yes, for the Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) to become a qualified advertising technician, you must have one of the following Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training: Advertising technology designer, screen printer, printing technologist specializing in screen printing or typeface painter, typeface and advertising designer. Persons with a federal certificate as a designer in the skilled trades are also admitted to the examination, as are persons with an equivalent certificate. In addition, all candidates must have five years of professional experience in value engineering, two of which must be in a management and technical position.
