Professional experience in packaging and printing technology is a mandatory requirement for admission to the Federal Professional Examination in Printing and Packaging Technology. The required professional experience varies depending on the training and further education. For example, flexographic printers, packaging technologists, printing technologists or other visual communication professionals with a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET Diploma) with three years of professional experience following their apprenticeship are admitted. Persons with a Federal VET Diploma from another industry, a high school diploma or a comparable qualification must have four years of professional experience in packaging and printing technology; interested parties without one of the qualifications mentioned here must have at least eight years of experience.
