Most language schools offer so-called conversation courses, which focus on improving oral expression and pronunciation. Such English courses are usually offered from level A1, as people with less knowledge of the language need to build up their vocabulary first. In such a conversation course, students talk to the teacher and to each other about a wide variety of topics, such as current events in the world, vacation plans, movie reviews, social issues, historical events, retellings of texts and so on. The content and the level of the discussion depend on the students and their abilities and wishes, so that a very dynamic, interesting and unpredictable discussion can usually arise on a wide variety of topics.
