English courses for beginners and advanced learners: Which English exams can I take?
You can improve your language skills with English courses for beginners or advanced learners. Of course, you can also achieve this on your own - without a course. In order to have your language skills officially certified, you have to take a comprehensive exam. These exams and certificates are internationally recognized and are the same all over the world. The best known of these are the Cambridge examinations for English:
- FCE (Cambridge First Certificate in English)
- CAE (Certificate of Advanced English)
- CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English)
- BEC (Business English Certificate)
- IELTS (International English Language Testing System)

In addition, there are two exams originating in the United States that are also internationally recognized. These are:

There are also specific English courses for exam preparation. Diploma courses in particular are excellent preparation for these exams.
