In order for you to know whether you are up to the challenge and feel comfortable in this environment before you start studying occupational therapy, the Universities of Applied Sciences for Occupational Therapy generally expect their students to either have previous knowledge acquired during their vocational training (e.g. vocational baccalaureate in health/social work) or to have acquired initial social and personal skills during a twelve-month internship (so-called work experience in the health/social sector).
