No, you do not necessarily need a Matura, regardless of whether you have a technical, vocational or Baccalaureate, to start continuing education, further training as a banking expert. You can also apply with a commercial apprenticeship in the banking sector with an M or E profile, a Diploma of Higher Education in Banking from the Swiss Bankers Association for secondary school graduates or a Specialized School certificate as well as one year of practical experience in banking and a completed course at the CYP, the Center for Young Professionals in Banking, to become a Bank Economist CHE. Other continuing education, further training in the financial sector is also possible without a Matura, but only a limited number of courses are available.
