At most language schools here in Switzerland, you can attend a free trial lesson before registering for a comprehensive language course to gain an insight into the teaching methodology and learning environment. Especially if you are new to the language, you should take up such an offer from an English school and see whether you actually like this foreign language and whether you would actually enjoy learning it.
At some schools, you have the option of registering for a language course and attending a few lessons before deciding whether or not to continue. If you do not like the course, you will receive a full refund. Taster courses, on the other hand, which run over a longer period of time, are only available at a few schools. Occasionally, however, you will find an English school that offers language courses that last a few lessons and in which you can get an initial overview or briefly refresh your existing knowledge. Such a test course can last for 5 lessons, for example, but is often only offered by online schools. However, it is always worth asking.
